I worked in South Reno for quite sometime and I dined out for lunch in the area almost everyday. I have been here a few times now and nothing special in my opinion. First visit ordered tacos and shared a burrito. I felt we over payed both visits and my menudo portion was smaller than I'm used to. Service was good the second time, but the first time we waited a while before we were even offered anything to drink. The restaurant was clean and that's always a plus for me. I liked my meal more when I tried it in Carson. I did enjoy dessert more than my actual meal. I would order their sopapillas and flan again.
This lovely locally owned restaurant remains a favorite. Their best dish is truly up to you - but / their pork carnitas are the best in the area. Real pork roast tenderly cooked and deliciously flavored. Matched with an icy Paloma or Margarita for a wonderful meal. If not too hot the patio is perfect too. Try the carnitas, please.
La Posada is always a great place to grab a quick bite. Their food is delicious, their staff is friendly, and it's always super speedy getting a meal. They have a huge space for parties, a bar to hang, and a ton of booths to relax at.
Another good reliable lunch spot that we tried out for dinner! I have always gone here for work lunches, and it's always been delicious. One of the better Mexican restaurants here locally, it's definitely a good choice. The one item I need to comment on was the amount of carne asada that was in my taco salad/tostada. It was delicious, don't get me wrong, but I also would recommend more protein added in. Also, their chips were delicious, homemade, and warm when served! The service was timely and they were attentive enough. Especially given that there were three large parties that came in! The restaurant is also very intimate and cozy, if you want a good atmosphere, this is it!
